about me
After completing my B.A. degree, I worked at an emergency center for children at risk. This work made me realize how important it is to look at a human being as a set of systems and not only as a subject with no relation to these systems he’s part of.
The connection that was established with the children contributed to their sense of confidence and trusting adults, which has led me to choose to continue with my studies in Clinical Social Work, with a certification in therapy with children and adolescents.
Following that, during my internship and work with adults, adolescents, and children, I have seen how family members affect one another. Therefore, I have come to the understanding that in order to work effectively and be able to advance the client, there is a need for complex system work. Every person is a part of different systems that affect them, and vice versa. Under this assumption, I make sure during my work with children and adolescents to work together with the parents, in order to find the right and best way to create a significant change for them and their children.
At the end, that is my primary goal.
As an emotional therapist I have worked in different settings with children and adolescents at risk, I have interned in open psychiatric departments with children and adults. Throughout the years I have gained experience while working with adults, children, adolescents and parents. Which was done while working in a multi-professional setting and with the different systems the client was part of.
I have much experience working with children and adolescents that have dealt with difficulties including: acute transitions, adjustments to new settings, ADHD, ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), low motivation in the social and educational aspects, learning disabilities, and crisis within the family.
Therapy begins with an intake meeting for impression, getting to know each other, setting goals and expectations.
